i hate new york: motorcycle + sidewalk = near fatal catastrophe.
Mark has been parking his motorcycle on the sidewalk for the past couple of weeks and has had the cover off because someone had stolen the bungee cord that was securing it. Yesterday, I turned the corner only to see a building manager and a "fix-it" guy screaming at eachother and a huge mess next to Mark's bike. Some guy had been fixing an air conditioner on the 4th floor of the building Mark was parked next to and pushed the unit through the wall causing about 20-40 bricks to come crashing to the ground. The bricks crashed all around Mark's bike (luckily) without actually hitting it but leaving a huge mess and chunks of brick and plaster everywhere. Only in this lovely city.
